The purpose of this CXTech Week 47 2020 newsletter is to highlight, with commentary, some of the news stories in CXTech this week. What is CXTech? The C stands for Connectivity, Communications, Collaboration, Conversation, Customer; X for Experience because that’s what matters; and Tech because the focus is enablers.
You can sign up here to receive the CXTech News and Analysis by email. Please forward this on if you think someone should join the list. And please let me know any CXTech news I should include.

Twilio: Building A Customer Engagement Cloud
I’m not going to break apart the silly marketing spin, such as ‘Super Network’ – they mean aggregation and analytics. Nor the dopey categorization of cloud-based Communications Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS). Twilio are soup to nuts enterprise programmable communications across both the customer and employee experiences; with a big dollop of analytics across all the conversations. However, the addressable market numbers are getting closer to Twilio’s potential.
BICS to provide SIP Trunking and DIDs to Talkdesk
Talkdesk moved its traffic off Twilio a while ago, once Twilio started competing with them through FLEX. Rather than choose another CPaaS, they’ve gone with wholesale interconnect to avoid history being repeated.
Agora: A Play On The Democratization Of Real-Time Engagement
Agora reminds me a little of Pareteum. Not the dodgy revenue reporting, rather the spin in positioning. This article shows how they’re spinning their WebRTC APIs/SDK into a customer experience platform aaS and content delivery platform. I’ve talked previously in the CXTech Newsletters on this issue and comparables. Let’s just see where the cards fall through 2022 on Agora.
