CXTech Week 47 2024 News and Analysis

The purpose of this CXTech Week 47 2024 newsletter is to highlight, with commentary, some of the news stories in CXTech this week. What is CXTech?  The C stands for Connectivity, Communications, Collaboration, Conversation, Customer; X for Experience because that’s what matters; and Tech because the focus is enablers.

  • RTC Security Newsletter Oct
  • People, Gossip, and Frivolous Stuff

Remember, Remember the 5th of November

I’ll begin with Eric Troutman, the Czar of the TCPA. Eric explains the unique time we’ve entered in American politics. It’s not a political speech, its accurate on how America has got to this situation. The separation of powers is no more. This is a unique time in America’s history and anything could happen, that is not an overstatement.

TADHack and TADSummit

TADSummit

Thank you to everyone who took part in TADHack and TADSummit. In a TADSummit article I review the secret sauce of these events, honesty and integrity.

Over the past month we had close to 50k views of the videos on YouTube for TADSummit. On Linkedin close to 70k impressions, I use Linkedin to promote the weblog articles that include the videos.

The impressions peak on Linkedin around Oct 31st was mostly from ‘By The Numbers, The Honest CPaaS Review‘, ‘Wadaro, how in-SIM software is revolutionizing telecoms‘ and ‘Sponsor Keynote. The Rise and Rise of vCon, Thomas Howe.

To see all the world class, no BS content from TADSummit I’ve updated the agenda with links to the blogs about each presentation. Each insightful presentation deserves and received separate detailed analysis.

TADHack

TADHack 2024 was as much a blast as the first TADHack in 2014.

The people of TADHack make it special: developers, sponsors, partners running locations, Universities, and everyone that helps out with this massive global event focused on programmable communications. I’m proud of what we achieve every year through working together and showcasing talent and innovation from around the world.

We had people taking part from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, UK, Mexico, USA, and Tanzania.

Location sponsor hSenid Mobile has been with TADHack since the beginning, and Sri Lanka delivers amazing hacks every year. hSenid Mobile provide the most successful telco CPaaS, check out Dinesh’s keynote at TADSummit 2024, multi-channel including WhatsApp are core parts of their product.

This year’s sponsors brought a variety of cool new technologies to play with:

  • STROLID brought a file type, vCon, a PDF for conversations.
  • TSG Global brought TNID (Trusted Number ID), trusted communications.
  • SWAIG (SignalWire AI Gateway) enabled AI to be added to communications at scale with impressive tooling and guidance.
  • hSenid Mobile, Sri Lanka location partner, offered Ideamart and WhatsApp AI. Check out Ideamart, the most popular development method remains its no-code templates from 2013.
  • Addition resources used include SCITT, and Africa’s Talking.

The Great LATAM A2P SMS Robbery

What is happening to businesses in LATAM is dishonest and upset me greatly.

Businesses in LATAM are being subjected to 250%, 267%, and 6600% price increases for international A2P SMS as global aggregators squeeze out the local aggregators. And we’re seeing even local A2P SMS price increases of 1125%.

Please read the article linked from the title, the data is gathered from across the LATAM industry. In Asia there are similar dishonest activities, which I’ll cover next year. Stealing from customers is illegal and simply wrong. Yet the industry bodies do nothing, not even exposing the truth, shame on them.

Coming soon I’ll have podcasts interviewing local aggregators / businesses and how they are managing the transitions in their businesses to survive. I find their stories uplifting in overcoming adversity.

A few other articles worth your time…

To not overload you, here are a few more articles I think are worth your time:
